DCSD/mixing Phone Meeting 11-26-97
QQ D0 Mixing/DCSD Generator:
Shown below are QQ lifetime distributions using Harry's
deltaM/deltaGamma parametrization of mixing for
B/A = +sqrt(R) = +sqrt(3)tan^2(theta_c)
and with different combinations of x and y set to the FNAL limits of
0.075 and +/-0.15 or zero.
These distributions were calculated using information from the QQ
vertex common block. One thing to note is that I seem to have a
different convention for the sign of deltaGamma than what Harry used to
make his
lifetime
plots in his sensitivity study. This is because I chose the positive
solution of A = +-sqrt(R), whereas he chooses the negative solution.
This is the same as inverting the sign of deltaGamma.
I also ran this Monte Carlo with the same combinations of x and y but with
B/A = +sqrt(R) = +tan^2(theta_c), which is sort of the Standard Model
expectation of R, as shown below:
Topics for discussion:
- CLEOG has many options for parametrizing noise in the SVX. I used
the default, which may be no noise. What settings should I be using?
My settings can be found in my run card
cleog_svd.run. There are is documentation of the
switches in the
CLEOG area
of the CLEO software home page.
Plans:
- Make sure switch settings of CLEOG are right.
- Generate more MC. Using only our Aspen machine we can generate
about 20,000 events per day.
- Get analysis code (including KNLIB) up and running so I can
look at SVX info in Monte Carlo.
