I received bachelors degrees in physics and astronomy from the University of Washington and am now in my second year at the U of M. During my first year, I took classes and was a TA for the Astronomy 1001 labs. This summer I began working with Clem Pryke on the Keck Array telescopes, an instrument that will look at the polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background for signs of infation during the early universe. Specifically, the group I'm working with is responsible for the cryostats, the tubes that allow the instruments to be cryogenically cooled.
